I have been doing technical recruiting since 2013. After spending 7 years selling software and consumer electronics to retail and distributers, I decided to change career paths due to the decline in retail sales and go into recruiting. I started at MTS Driver Recruiters which is a company that does recruiting for truck drivers. I only spent a short time there because I really wanted something more technical.
I ended up getting a position at LHP Engineering Solutions an automotive engineering services company that just launched a Detroit office a year prior. I spent almost 7 years there in a variety of roles in sales, recruiting and got not only recruit but also manage and lead a team of recruiters. At LHP I became an expert in embedded systems and learned the technology well enough to able to have very high level technically discussions with both candidates and engineering Managers. At LHP I really found my passion for technical recruiting within automotive systems.
I currently work at Ford Motor Company as a Senior Technical Recruiter. I am responsible for recruiting software engineers across both vehicle development and Ford ADAS TAAS (transportation as a service) groups. My roles consisted of working with the hiring managers and creating the job descriptions and seeing the whole process from sourcing candidates to extending offers and onboarding
